Kling AIText/image-to-video generator

A focused generator strong on multi-shot clips with synced dialogue and fine motion controls. Flow and Seedance offer similar native-audio generation. Runway and Luma bundle many models, including Kling, in agent suites.

Best for: Character-driven trailer beats or social clips with dialogue, made from key art or concept frames.

Luma AIAgent creative workspace (Ray video model)

Stands out for HDR/EXR output and keyframe- and performance-driven video-to-video for compositing. Runway is the closest suite rival. Kling and Seedance lead on native audio and longer clips.

Best for: Restyling gameplay capture or mocap into trailer shots, and making HDR plates to composite in the edit.

Where you use it

Web Creative Studio (Generate, Omni, Canvas, Agent), API platform, MCP and CLI.

Web app (the Luma Agents workspace with boards) and API. The site no longer uses the Dream Machine name. lumalabs.ai/dream-machine now shows Luma Agents.

You give it

Text prompts, images, start and end frames, Elements and Omni references, and reference video for Motion Control.

A chat brief with text, images, video, audio for lip sync, PDFs, and saved reference assets such as characters and logos.

You get

Kling 3.0: up to 15-second multi-shot clips with native audio and lip-synced dialogue, up to 4K. Kling 4.0 launched October 2026.

Ray3.2 clips of 5 or 10 seconds (Modify Video up to 20 seconds), 360p–1080p, 16-bit HDR and EXR. Text and image-to-video have no native audio.

How you steer it

Camera movement, motion brush, start/end frames, Elements library, Omni Reference, multi-keyframe control (4.0), Standard or Professional mode, Motion Control.

Up to 16 keyframes, Modify Video with motion and camera transfer and face tracking, Reframe to new aspect ratios, and manual model choice (Ray, Uni-1, Veo, Kling, Seedance).

How you refine results

Extend with prompts, batch variants, lip sync, and node editing with agent-written scripts and storyboards in Canvas.

Chat follow-ups with the Agent, Brainstorm and Create modes, 360p drafts before final renders, and organising and annotating takes on an infinite board.

Pick Kling AI if you want

  • Native audio and 1080p/4K output in one pass
  • Realistic human motion (hair, fabric, gait) in same-prompt tests
  • Cheaper and faster to iterate than Seedance in a side-by-side test

Watch out: Free outputs must keep Kling branding and can't be used commercially; Mid-table on independent boards (#15-17); Kling 4.0 not yet benchmarked

Pick Luma AI if you want

  • Image-to-video animation of a reference image
  • Film-like look, with HDR/EXR output on Ray3 (from feature coverage)

Watch out: Objects morph or vanish in complex scenes (Ray3); No native audio in any Ray version

  • Analytics Vidhya: I tried the new Ray3 AI video maker Hands-on with four prompts plus image-to-video. The best clip was high quality and followed lighting details, and image animation worked well. Other clips showed objects morphing or vanishing, shaky motion and weak handling of unusual concepts. The verdict was impressive but far from ideal.
