How each one works, from its own docs.
Draw-and-see Realtime generation and training a model on your own art style in one app, with many image models side by side. Midjourney is for mood and style exploration; ChatGPT is for precise edits to existing images.
Best for: Pre-production concept art: characters, environments and prop variations in a consistent game style.
Keeps one approved character at the centre of its props, scenes and animations, and animates it from a continuous motion clip whose frames you choose afterwards. PixelLab builds animations from text or skeleton poses; Retro Diffusion locks output to pixel grids and palettes.
Best for: 2D indie game art: a character, matching props and scenes, and its move set exported as sprite sheets.

Krea's pricing FAQ says Basic, Pro, Max, Business and Enterprise plans include a commercial licence to use generated content for commercial purposes 'without restrictions'. Its Terms of Use (last updated 20 May 2024) are softer: Krea 'may allow you to commercialize certain Content' subject to your tier, and 'reserves the right to modify the terms of commercial use' at any time. Free-plan commercial use isn't stated clearly. source
MotifDeck's Asset License lets you use paid outputs in personal, game-jam and commercial game projects, subject to the plan and model terms in effect when the output is created. Free plan outputs are licensed for personal and non-commercial use only. The terms don't name the company or governing law; they send entity and jurisdiction questions to MotifDeck support. source
